it's a good album. i don't give a shit what anyone else says.

james dean bradfield will never be inducted into the rock & roll hall of fame and this is why the universe is doomed to collapse. we are all being punished for failing to recognize his greatness.
Yeah, it's pretty great
The lyrics sort of go beyond being edgy such that they become even more disturbing. They're very obviously the ramblings of a basketcase, but have a lot more resonance in them than I'd be comfortable admitting.
Honestly though, I think the actual music in this album gets very overlooked in appraisal of it. James (and Sean, people forget he wrote a lot of the music as well) were able to write some of their best, most intense stuff for this album.

This album is edgy done right
Makes Nine Inch Nails sound like children's music
Yes is probably one of the most perfect introductions to an album ever. That riff and the "For sale? Dumb cunt's same dumb questions" always gives me goosebumps. It's amazing how James and Sean managed to create music that fit the lyrics so perfectly. I suppose they just had a good relationship within the band - I mean they were all mates who grew up together.
