>Rivers Cuomo stated that "Beverly Hills" along with the solo, third verse, and last chorus of "Falling for You" (from Pinkerton), are his proudest musical achievements: "It's incredibly fun: a great beat, guitar riffs, catchy vocal style. Besides that, I think the lyrics are incredible in a very understated way. I might as well enjoy my life and watch the stars play. I love it! With this one song we were able to transcend our little niche and connect with all kinds of people, young and old, from all kinds of backgrounds."

Pinkerton is only a tier or two better than Make Believe or Red and everyone on this board will try to deny it.
He's got to be trolling, right?

Blue Album is the only good Weezer album.
Beverly Hills is pop genius and their biggest hit

I do agree Falling For You is his best song, at least from Pinkerton.

Beverly Hills isn't too bad desu. They've done much worse. I think the production doesn't do it many favours. I think had it been produced by someone else it might've come across more silly than stupid.
HOLY SWEET GODDAMN

This, it came up on the radio the other day, and I was amazed at just how much less I hated it 12 years later. It's a killer dumb, simple pop tune, the sort of perfectly-concocted thing that usually takes an army of middle aged Jewish dudes months to churn out.
For someone who has never shied from writing poppy songs, and certainly never had any issue writing more complex/introspective alternative rock, I do believe that Rivers is probably legitimately proud of writing a bona fide top 40 chart climber all on his own.
