>I love hip hop and rap music
>Doesn't even know who Kool Herc is.
>Doesn't know what turntablism even is.
Mumble rap fans in a nutshell.
The best way to let everyone know you know nothing about hip hop is wearing a shirt that says 'Weezy' or some stupid shit on it.

>wearing a shirt that says 'Weezy'
>2017
nice try

Normie detected.
If it's pre-1985, the vast majority of rap/hip hop fans won't have a clue.
>>74261413
Not true.
It depends on how much of a die hard fan you are.
DJ Qbert has lots of old records from guys such as mantronix and so do a lot of the most famous and dedicated turntablists.
>>74260996
If you believe in the elements of true hip-hop, it's essentially street art & doesn't exist anymore
>>74261485
What do you mean?
>>74260996
why do you hate people who don't know about early hip-hop when most "die hard hip-hop" neglect entire other genres instead.
>>74261638
No they don't.
Most die hard hip hop people know about at least funk jazz and early electronic music too.
Hip hop exposes you to a wide variety of genres.
>>74261625
I mean the graph/dancing/mixing breaks w/turntables & rapping literally on the spot
>>74261658
Still exists.
Mumble rap fans would say it's lame and ignore the foundations though.
>>74261651
No, they don't. At best they listen to Frank Ocean or The Weeknd and think that they listen to "R&B". Literally all of the hip hop fans I know are "I don't listen to guitar music" tier plebes.
t. someone who used to be like them
>>74261699
I bet you don't even go yo record stores.
You don't know shit... Also there are plenty of hip hop songs with guitar riffs.
>>74261668
I know.. they consider it corny
>>74261699
DJ qbert is said to be one of the greatest turntablists and hip hop fans love him.

In demolition pumpkin squeeze music he starts sampling Rush at the very start of his song at 0:49.
This is someone who is said to be the god of turntablism....
How are you so ignorant?
>>74261716
Mumble rap fans are fucking shit people desu.
>>74261715
IMMA PICK THE WORLD UP
Listen to DJ Muggs from cypress hill talk about his influences for example and his opinions on guitar riffs in rap...
Anyone who says that hip hop heads only appreciate one genre are far removed from that kind of circle.

>I love life
>Doesn't even know all the physical, biological and chemical processes that gave rise to life.
Humans in a nutshell.
The best to let everyone know you know nothing about life is wearing a hat that says 'I <3 NY' or some stupid shit on it.
I think part of what made hip hop so appealing to people from other countries is the idea of social class.
People heard these songs and they thought.. Well I'm not African American or even American but I grew up in a government house and relate to it.
I mean not consciously but subconsciously.

You don't have to know about and listen to the blues if you like rock, plebs always gonna pleb
