I didn't think they were that cheesy. Especially considering the time. Think about the previous beach boys albums that were completely vapid. This was at least a more honest album from Wilson.

I used to not listen to albums if I didn't like the cover art

Problem was I have very specific tastes, so I only listened to about 4 dozen different albums at that time
