People say it's overrated, but honestly, I think it might be their best album. It's execution as a concept album is practically perfect. And musically, I think it's fantastic. And I barely like Pink Floyd very much in general (not even Dark Side Of The Moon, which is certainly overrated), but I really like this album. As for your second question, do you mean if the exact same album was recorded and released in 2017 instead of back then? Because then I think it might be more acclaimed than it was back then, since it would stand out so much as something very different from modern rock music. It would be a little strange, though, like the incorporation of disco elements in some of the songs. It definitely reflects its time period.

Love it. Roger Waters was always the superior songwriter, though Gilmore songs make up most of the peaks of the album.

A lot of people look for "perfect" albums where each track is a standalone masterpiece. The Wall is a few of those surrounded by short narrative pieces.

Side 3 is the best side ever. Side 4 couldn't be released today.
