Why couldn't Trent and Brian have become a musical duo?

Trent's production got even better over the years.
Brian's voice is now worse than ever.

Well the thing is Brian was always a better showman/performance artist than he was really a skilled singer.
And now that emo goth scene is pretty dead and he is a middle aged plump guy he isn't much of a showman either. I almost feel bad for the guy.
