/mu/.

We must now concur, collectively as a board. that a full and frank reappraisal of the entire Linkin Park is now required. The untimely death of Chester Bennington forces us to reevaluate their musical opus in a completely different context.

No longer must Linkin Park be regarded as merely a dated remnant of the Nu-Metal era. Instead, we must begin to view them as visionaries, a band who encapsulated angst and pain in a way that few bands have ever done and who created something truly original with it. No longer must they be the objects of ridicule and mockery, remembered only for one thing: a song with an outdated MTV2 video that became a meme in its own right.

It is time we gave Linkin Park the respect they deserve. I, for one, will not let Chester Bennington's death be in vain. Let us remember them as trailblazers who stood aloft during the turn-of-the-century musical malaise.

Chester mattered. Linkin Park matter.

They are literally as influential as Nirvana now

Nope. It's still cringe-worthy middle school-core.

Because he killed himself? LP were influential back when they were still relevant. His suicide is just going to help cement their legacy a bit more. I doubt we'll see a sudden resurgence of Nu-Metal because of this though.

Does anyone have that "God I wish that were me" meme with Chris and Chester?
