Of course no, actually they were kinda innovative for their time (mostly with Pet Sounds) and in general their music is catchy (remember "succesful"), but yes they are kind of overrated, because by their time producers want them to be considered the "American Beatles" so they were use in some form for "american propaganda" and turn themselves to be "american symbols" in some way.
