>unironically say that I like every kind of music besides k-pop and country when people ask me what I listen to

Am I autistic?
>>
>>74131648
I mean I doubt you actually listen to shit like crunkcore
But kpop is totally worthless and country is pretty bad so that part is fair
>>
>>74131648
Old country is fantastic.
It didn't become a lame sub-genre of pop until the late '70s
>>
>talking trash on country

Go listen to milli vanilli or something faggot
>>
If you're a dude and live in the city I can totally understand why you're not into those genres.
>>
>>74131648
>>74131943
Why do you hate country but like hiphop again? When did everything go so wrong?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CqosaLC-B7Y
>>
The only autistic thing is that you are mentioning k-pop when asked about your favorite music.

I'm just saying if you've never lived in a rural area it's understandable that you won't get into country, bluegrass, mountain music or folk easily. Musical taste also depends on your geographical location and what you grew up with.
>>
this has been a normie response for ages

except for even mentioning k-pop then yes you are autistic
>>
>>74131648
You can't hate all kpop, it's not a genre it doesn't have a uniform sound or music style.
>>
>>74132244
Okay.
It's just strange that there's a lot of Americans but I rarely see country threads.
>>
>>74132304
It has all of those things from what I've heard. Having a track with flamenco samples doesn't make it a flamenco track. It's a flavor. Also every songs are produced the same way. I wouldn't be surprised if they were all made by the same guy.
>>
>>74132244
Or watch predators games. They'll play country music at their games
>>
>>74131648
>Am i autistic?
No, you don't like k-pop.

I know. It makes me sad too. I don't know enough about the genre even though I love some of that stuff.

These all fit exactly in the kpop mold. I'm not asking you to check them all out completely (I know you don't like kpop so that would be cruel) but I'm asking you to please at least skim through some of them and see if they are somewhat similar
>>
>>74132417
You should give 16 horsepower a try.
I'm into more modern "alt-country" desu, but it has a bit different vibe. Those tracks are good though, maybe I should listen more of that.
>>
>>74132501
I admit they sound varied but they all seem to follow most pop tropes I know. They have a catchy chorus, a rap section and are around 4:00 minutes long. It's not a bad thing, I like metal and hip-hop and it's very formulaic, but I don't consider these to be groundbreaking music either (except for a few exceptions). At this point it's a matter of taste. This music is targeted toward a specific audience and I'm just not part of it.

This is the closest to KPop I liked so far and I'm not even sure if it's related at all.

Listening to Black Soul Choir right now. I really like this.
>>
>mentioning k-pop at all

yes, you are
>>

no Capsule is not kpop at all, kpop has to come from Korea. The point of my post was that excluding kpop as a genre is stupid since it isn't one, Good Night is a rock song more than a kpop song, Dumb Dumb is r&b more than it is kpop, it's just, you know... in Korean.
also I think Hitchiker is kpop too
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aL_mTKWwRto
>>
>>74133142
So basically any pop oriented music from Korea is K-pop? For some reason when I hear K-pop I mostly think of Korean girl bands. I like the track you posted btw. Made me think of this guy. (I know he's japanese, I think I'm racist or something)

>>
>>74133262
the definition of kpop is a bit iffy, it's definitely more than just girl bands, that's just what kpg really likes, but beyond that the borders blur a bit. Like I can't say every popular Korean artist is kpop because hiphop is popular in Korea too and you wouldn't say Kendrick Lamar is a pop artist, wait would you? It's an interesting conversation, some would hesitate to call Hitchiker kpop but he signed with the biggest company in the country and in the song I previously posted he featured a popular boyband member, so he's definitely part of the industry. But I want to reiterate that even with a more narrow definition kpop can be piano ballads
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9kaCAbIXuyg
Folk music
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1pGxkXyDvc
and Chainsmokers impressions
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zEkg4GBQumc
etc. These everyone would definitely consider kpop

also that's a really cool track you posted

What have you done toothposter, he looks so pained
>>

Country is actually great, some of the GOAT singer/songwriters played Country. Not to mention there have been good new releases in the past few years by Jason Isbell, Sturgill Simpson, Kacey Musgraves.

I'm surprised not more Americans on this board discuss it as it's probably one of the few genres that are distinctly American.
