it's not the fact that it's generic modern pop, the reason i initially thought it failed is because chester's voice sounds like it's on its way out, like he had to really strain himself to hit notes, i'm not sure why but it's really grating. i don't know if that's not gonna change now though, i haven't gone back to it yet, but i feel like it might. cliched comparison but i think blackstar had the same thing going on
