I bought a new bass about 2 weeks ago but it seems to have some serious fret buzz. I adjusted the saddle but it still seems to be there. My other bass doesn't buzz at all like this one.

Maybe it's because my new one is 3/4th scale and my old one is full scale?
>>
>>74063507

>>
>>74063603

truss rod? warped neck? action? is the bridgeplate screwed on properly?

I guess if you're not happy with it, refund and get something you are happy with.
>>
>>74063978
Haven't adjusted the truss rod because it looking down the neck it doesn't look warped at all

Haven't checked the bridge plate and I've raised the action quite high already

>it's not as full on red irl. Kinda dark red with sort of a pinkish sheen to it in certain light.
>See the black one is now the same price as this one
Seriously considering sending it back and getting the black one now. Why do I have to be such an autist about this shit.
I'm just a little concerned that they'd fuck me over for the (veeery slight) usage marks on the back.

Anyone experience with sending guitars back to Thomann?
>>
>>74063603
Just take it to a guitar tech and have then take a look at it before you decide to sell it. May just need to have a proper set up.
>>
How do I math rock
>>
>>74064019

I don't see why it would be the scale length that would cause a buzzing. Just play all the frets and find out, maybe you got a bad example. Or like the other dude said, take it to a tech if you're willing to pay for the time.

I'm in the market for a Steinberger Spirit Gt-Pro Deluxe, anything of equal/greater quality in that price range?
>>
>>74064212
$50 approx
>>
>>74065666
The 50W version would work but the 100W version is just better honestly. Better speaker, larger cabinet, more features, etc. The 100 is perfectly gig-able IMO.

How hard would it be for a total noob to learn to play fretless bass? I do play sax and synths (though I suck at keys) so I know a bit about music but never touched a guitar in my life.
>>
>>74066317
A bit more difficult than playing regular bass. It's not as hard as people think, get a bass with full line markers at the fret positions, it really helps.
>>
>>74066317
You should probably start with a fretted. With a fretted, you know exactly how the notes are divided up on the scale and where they are. On a fretless, you lack that and it's just assumes you already know where the notes are and where to slide to. Otherwise you are learning by ear almost completely.

But then again, an upright bass has no frets either, and players figure it out...
>>
>>74066369
>But then again, an upright bass has no frets either, and players figure it out...
Yea this was my thinking also.
>>
>>74066369
>>74066516
Again, line markers make it 10x easier than a completely bare fingerboard, so I'd strongly recommend them. Pretty sure you can start on a fretless bass though, especially if you have a decent ear from playing other instruments. The line marker gets you 90% there and the rest is a tiny adjustment on the note based on your ear.
>>
Someone give me the basic gestalt on Eau Claire Thunder fuzz pedals please.

Takeshi from Boris uses one, and I love his guitar tone, anyone else have experience with this pedal?

>Again, line markers make it 10x easier than a completely bare fingerboard, so I'd strongly recommend them.
Yea I can imagine, however a completely black fingerboard looks much more aesthetic lol.
I've seen some guitars with markings on the side of the neck, that might be a good compromise.
>>
>>74066921
sounds more like Polly desu
>>
>>74066921
Learn some proper chords instead and practice switching between them.
>>
What are the main differences between cheap and expensive basses? Like would a 150 euro bass guitar be okay for a beginner, or would it just be total bollocks?
>>
>>74067963
Attention to detail, materials and hardware, quality of pickups and electronics, fretjob and setup, etc.
You can learn on a 150$ bass, but at that price it will probably need a fretjob and a setup to actually play well. Nobody cares how your bass sounds when you're still learning so the pickups don't matter that much.
>>
Do we still play guess the tune around here?
https://clyp.it/n1oyf5y5

recording will sound fuzzy, my interface isn't grounded correctly since i have an xlr going to a preamp pedal into my instrument.
>>
how the fuck do i get at the circuit board in my amp, i've unscrewed everything but the back won't come off,
>>
>>74066635
>>74067057
Well, a fretless might still have the marker dots, so you'd still have a guide to know an octave and some of the notes.
>>
>>74068460
Trust me, full lines are ideal or at least sidelines if the optic of the fingerboard is so important.
>>
>>74068493
