When do you think they'll hit peak annoying? At least with reflektor they were only half way up their asses.
Maybe they'll get so far up their own asses that their next album theyll come full circle out their mouths and just make something like funeral again.

They're allowed to be up their own asses like they were on Reflektor if they're just *that* good, and I think they were on that album.
It feels different with EN. It doesn't really feel like an AF album so far, and the singles haven't been quite up to their previous standards.
Where Reflektor was serious, EN just seems snarky. Hopefully they either go back to being serious, or even better, they cut back on the social commentary and go back to more personal topics.

i thought suburbs had some good singles, relektor i did not enjoy, not even the singles. this new shit, i can't even enjoy.
i find myself wondering if i even liked this band in the first place.

Funny, I enjoyed Reflektor more than Suburbs on the whole. Suburbs is overlong and the only tracks I remember standing out were the title track, Ready to Start, and Sprawl II. The rest seemed repetitive and dedicated to the suburbs idea to a fault.
I like the production and instrumentation (dem synths) on Reflektor more, and the whole back half is fucking sublime.

they already did. every single from the new album except for maybe the title track has been near-unlistenable dance pop trash. It's truly shocking they would do this. Their attitude has been like this since The Suburbs but they still managed to make really great and serious music at the same time.
they will probably be the U2 of our generation, unfortunately
