Doobie Brothers, Christopher Cross, and the entirety of pre-MTV west coast yacht rock/soft rock are what you're looking for. Pandora is your friend, because there are so many forgotten gems and one-hit wonders to come out of that genre that it's nigh-on impossible to get into without being forced to listen to artists that even most of /my/ probably doesn't even know existed.
Also, early 80s adult-oriented pop written by the frontman of iconic bands of the 60s and 70s is pretty close to the sound Daft Punk was striving for here, particularly Steve Winwood, Don Henley, and Pete Townsend's solo work.
