What do you think of where Mark Kozelek has gone to with his last SKM albums?
do people even still listen to him anymore? i could barely sit through Universal Themes once
I think Benji was very nice but he somehow concluded that "if some diary-entry rambling is good then a lot must be gooder" and became a self-parody immediately. It's a shame because he's a talented songwriter with a knack for poignant lyrics but all that's taken a backseat to MMH WOKE UP THIS MORNING EIGHTH OF JUNE, READ THE NEWSPAPER AND MADE SOME COFFEE shit so that he can live up to the dumb "crotchety antihero" image for Pitchfork shekels

Mark was a bad goy apparently.
Benji>Common>30 Seconds>Yellow Kitchen>UT>J/Skm
Benji is a masterpiece but I think Common As Light deserves more praise for simply being genuinely different and genuinely experimental in a time where people became try hards trying to sound different. Yellow Kitchen is so surreal and Scott Walkeresque that I love listening to it and Ali/Spinks 2 is Marks worst song. Period.
2017 is a good year for Mark
