What are some of the best instrumental hip hop/ trip hop albums? I've been listening to Donuts and Endtroducing lately and I'm looking for some more stuff in the same vein.

try the 10000000000000000000 dilla tribute albums there are
should keep you busy
this is also roundly thought of as the best album cover of all time design and style wise meaning high class artistes all agree it's the best ever
"this album cover saved my life"

It's a well composed image with a simple, sans serif title. There's nothing wrong with it because it's simple, there's not much it could have done wrong.
However, I think the best thing about the album cover is that it really shows how down to earth it is. It's just a dude making some beats. It's not trying to be anything more than that and a goodbye. RIP Dilla

>madlib
he has plenty of beat tapes out there, all amazing.
>special herbs vol 1-9
MF DOOMs joints produced by him, great to listen to in the background
>knxwledge
arguably the dilla of 2017, has countless beat tapes out
>tuamie
my personal favourite, love this guy. also has a big discography
>kankick
tapes on tapes from this guy
>shawn kemp/ugly mane
try three sided tape volume one - this guy is overlooked as a producer
i could do a whole post on different dilla projects if you'd like, i've got his whole discography even down to his stuff with 1st down

Also want to point out that it's a band playing live instruments. No samples.
I'm glad you asked.
This guy is heavily influenced by J Dilla, and if you like JD I guarantee you will like him.
