Which Underoath album is the best? Where should I start?
>>

Romantic Emily sounds like a Skylit Drive cover band.
>>
>>74005145
that album was pretty dank. ASD, Saosin, Scary kids and Chiodos first two albums were the best of that era i believe

my favorite is theyre only chasing safety.

Define The Great Line is objectively their best, and encompasses their poppy emo sound, as well as their darker post-rock sound perfectly. Start with that one. If you want darker and heavier, with more post-rock, check out Lost In The Sound Of Separation and finally Disambiguation. If you want poppier, check out They're Only Chasing Safety.
Their old stuff with their original vocalist sucks pretty bad, but you might enjoy The Changing Of Times.
>>
>>74005246
The Emptiness is my fav album by them i think.

TFW you will never hop in a car with your boys to go to the show on a school night and proudly sport the shitty merch you bought the next day to make all the scene girls wet.
TFW you will never get to mosh to that "brutal" breakdown with the other kids having invisible ninja fights
What a simple and pure time the early 00's were

"Real Emo" only consists of the dc Emotional Hardcore scene and the late 90's Screamo scene. What is known by "Midwest Emo" is nothing but Alternative Rock with questionable real emo influence. When people try to argue that bands like My Chemical Romance are not real emo, while saying that Sunny Day Real Estate is, I can't help not to cringe because they are just as fake emo as My Chemical Romance (plus the pretentiousness). Real emo sounds ENERGETIC, POWERFUL and somewhat HATEFUL. Fake emo is weak, self pity and a failed attempt to direct energy and emotion into music. Some examples of REAL EMO are Pg 99, Rites of Spring, Cap n Jazz (the only real emo band from the midwest scene) and Loma Prieta. Some examples of FAKE EMO are American Football, My Chemical Romance and Mineral EMO BELONGS TO HARDCORE NOT TO INDIE, POP PUNK, ALT ROCK OR ANY OTHER MAINSTREAM GENRE

If you're not older than 35 and go to rock/alt clubs, you can still pretty much do the same thing. I know I look like an outdated faggot but there are girls thirsty for their teen nostalgia same as us, and the 90s grunge look is /fa/ atm too so as long as you avoid neon bbycakes tees it's fine
