Why don't other people care about music? Just spent a few minutes looking at Spotify playlists of a number of Facebook friends of mine (inb4 Facebook normie, fuck off) and its honestly appalling. Countless "indie chill" playlists filled with shit, "turn up" playlists filled with drivel and "favorites" playlists filled with trash. All of these playlists have countless followers which just adds insult to injury. How can people care so little about something that is constantly around them and ingrained in culture? Everything these people listen to is force fed crap thats pushed as "hip" with 0 deviation or interesting concepts.
I know someone's gonna call me autistic or something, but i do think it's interesting that people can care so little about something so universal.

Why aren't some people into movies? Why aren't some people into sports? Why aren't some people into cars? Why aren't some people into politics? Who cares?

you cant really skim through a song like a book and get it all in. Normies skim

I think a majority of people enjoy music for its sentimental value, but I wish that weren't the case. I have friends who are into the arts but its a lot easier to dissect a painting with them than even approach having a thoughtful discussion on why we like or dislike particular music.

It's different because 99% of people listen to music fairly regularly but they still manage to not care. If you don't like sports or cars you can almost completely avoid them whereas music is everywhere

Is there really sentimental value in some shitty trap single people forget about after a day? It's more understandable with artists who are pop culture mainstays but with flavor of the month (or even week) artists becoming the norm, can you even become attached?
