This used to happen to me when I was a nightly pot smoker (but not necessarily when I was high). But since I cut back to just smoking a couple times a month it never happens anymore.

This happens during the ending bit of Radioheads let down for me, every time. Also one I think there's a song on the White Album that does this to me, maybe back in the ussr?

yeah, this is a classic avoidance technique. I just put my headphones on without anything playing all the time and only respond to people I want to talk to. The others can go to hell.
