it's my AOTY so far
I've never been much of a fleet foxes fan but this one really hit me for some reason. I love the writing, you can really hear him progress as a lyricist
I wish the songs were fleshed out properly but they're not. Except for Third of May and On Another Ocean, every song just appallingly falls apart midway. Extremely disappointing.

Pros: As usual for fleet foxes ridiculously original while still sounding somewhat familiar. Tbh fleetfoxes could themselves fit there own subgenre of music. A lot of depth in the music, that really can only be truly enjoyed with high quality headphones/speakers and lsd. Third of may is a fantastic song. Cons: When they originally said they were getting the band back together I though they meant Josh tillman aswell but nah, keeping FJM out of the band I guess. Parts of the album end abruptly and it kind of fits together clunky. Overall: I would say its probably second best fleet foxes release, Helplessness blues was just to much of a masterpiece to ever be competed with.

Doesn't do it for me as much as helplessness did, I liked the more experimental vibe on that one. It does however, do what the debut did better and with a more bleak atmosphere and much more lush production.

Pure Comedy was great though, I didnt really care much for the Fleet Foxes album but maybe i just need to give it another shot. Personally I'd rather have the FJM albums
