>Whenever, if Ever is universally praised and touted as one of the best Emo albums of 2013
>Harmlessness is largely forgotten
What went wrong?
No clue, but it's unfortunate. I honestly think it's a little better. Love the post rock influence that shows up more on Harmlessness

The "emo revival" died because you could count the amount of good bands on one hand, and most of the bands were smug shitheads and pissed everyone off with constant internet drama and holier-than-thou attitudes, all the kids who got into emo and indie shit because of the "revival" either discovered better bands and sub-genres of punk or hopped on more trendy scenes, like the Burger kids. Same with the brief folk punk boom around the same time.

Indie Emo revival died too fast

How about Touche Amore?
Remember the new American Football album? Me neither
Remember when La Dispute totally shat the bed? I do

Getting Sodas is so much more RAW. It's Emo and Post-Rock at its finest.
I Can Be Afraid of Anything lacks fury and grit.
