It requires too much knowledge to be catchy to people who don't know this. This may sound cliche but the fact you had to go into detailed explanation about your band name means that it's probably not catchy or clever enough, sorry. That's just my opinion.

Remember that a band name is extremely important and can be someone's first impression of you. Throwing it away on some inside joke or reference isn't likely to work 99 times out of 100
