You think there are musicians that are just too visionary for their own good?
Like the gods themselves declared them to die young so they dont crush the balance of the universe.
But Bob Dylan is still alive.

What does this expression convey?
Didn't die, but he was so good that the only balance was for him to have ALS at 20 years old.

[southern rock intensifies]

Do not fetishize a musician's death or work.
It's disrespectful to the reality of their life and music. There is nothing supernatural about a groundbreaking musical advancement. Keep the fantasy out of your assessment of music.

Zappa too, but I'm more interested in the people that were "touched" by him and groomed from regular good musician to god mode

>Zappa

Jesus Christ I just googled him and that's depressing as shit
I can't even imagine the kinda visionary shit Jimi Hendrix would have made if he lived through the 70s

>elevator music

>Being this retarded
>>73847657
He wasn't even that good. His compositions are childish at best. Really fast arpeggios with distortion is not visionary.
But sure, for a rock/metal guitarist, he must have been Jesus right?

ill eat your ass you ginger faggot

What? Whacky blues and instrumental violence?

I have a feeling he would have pushed farther into funk and psychedelia, and perhaps even a little bit of prog. Could have made for some really cool stuff
>>73849403
It's not so much about the visionary part, more about the God's will to remove the anomaly.
Also you must actually be deaf if you can't hear the genius in his playing, and I'm not talking about theory.
>>73849414
I think he would start moving more in a songwriter direction honestly. His songwriting and melodies would become top tier while his improvment as a guitarist slowed down.
He probably would have incorporated more experimental influence into his music as well.
