Viktor Tsoy is a legend.
Modern Russian music scene isn't great but theres some good stuff too. Generes such as witch house and early days of trap were very popular here back in the day, now theres a lot of cloud rap most of which is fucking shit.

Yeah, I've really fallen in love with the Russian language as of late and have been looking for some good music. Thanks for introducing me to Viktor Tsoy. I haven't heard of him until now.
What's your opinion on this album?
Akwarium, Grazhdanskaya Oborona, Kino, Zemfira, Mashina Vremeni, Lube, Leningrad, etc.

>russian professor tells me his tapes were forbidden and he's their Bob Dylan
>younger russians tell me he's more like their Elvis and only old people think he's cool
i dont care what russians think i like how he accentuates his consonants and weird guitar tuning

>weird guitar tuning
most of it was thanks to this babe

I'd say the older guys have a point. Young Russians only know him from the Soviet movies and whatever hits are played on the radio.

yes i like him best when it sounds like you had to break into your Party member relatives' desk drawer and listen to this when they weren't home
