Anon how can I appreciate hip hop?
Seriously I cannot get into it. I managed to listen and appreciate few old and modern classics like cypress Hill, or death grips, but nothing else. I listened to Kendrick Lamar lately but.. meh
Do I miss something I should pay more attention to?

try listening to more instrumental/industrial hip hop, stuff with a greater focus on beats than rapping
Young Thug or Kanye West
It depends, If you have only been listening to trash mumble trap, I can see why you just don't understand the hype. If you have really been trying to find decent to amazing modern rap then look up Danny Brown, Kendrick Lamar, BROCKHAMPTON, Tyler the Creator, Denzel Curry, Joey Bada$$, Ab-Soul, Vincent Staples, and other artists you find similar. For oldetails school rap, here are specific albums recommended; Illmatic, Ready to Die, The Low End Theory, Midnight Marauders, Me Against the World, Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), Death Certificate, The Chronic, Doggystyle, and Bizarre Ride II the Pharcyde.

I'll try to listen to it more carefully, thx

I actually like it

Try sage Francis or immortal technique. Both are very clever and have good rhyme schemes. Sage is more emotions while technique is like fuck America
