>John Cale leaves the band
>They go from legitimate innovators pushing what guitar based pop music could do to wallowing in a tub of stale cum and following the trends at the time
anybody that still defends the hack Lou Reed knows fucking nothing about music and should stop trying to discuss it. Everything good he has ever put his name on has been made by others for him.
Bump for agree
lou reed is a talentless hack
Let me guess, you're convinced mick ronson and bowie are the reasons transformer is good. Give me a break
>>73739706
>his solo album with them: decent
>his solo album without them: garbage
i donno anon, you tell me?
>>73739727
street hassle is better than transformer tho
>>73739727
They weren't on Berlin either though
>>73739355
Except pic related is a great album. Loaded is mediocre, I'll give you that. Transformer, the Blue Mask, Berlin, and New York are all great albums. Sally Can't Dance and S/T are also solid.
>>73739355
But both albums after Cale left were good.
He's a great singer, tho. Pulls off that "just let me die already" vibe better than anyone.

I saw Chris Difford play at a small club where he'd tell stories between the songs. He spoke fondly of Cale, who Squeeze worked with early in their careers. He said Cale wanted them to change their name to "Gay Guys", because it would generate publicity
this album always blows out avant teens who can't appreciate simple, well written songs.

This. "I'm Set Free" is one of the best songs the Velvets ever recorded.
>>73740088
And so is "Pale Blue Eyes".
>>73740088
it sounds like a gayer version of the Nico songs on TVU&N
the instrumental bit in the middle is the only good part
what kind of pleb dislike S/T
>>73740258
>disliking their sell-out album is plebby in anyway
It's their first album made to appeal to a wider audience (the plebians). Liking it makes you the pleb
>>73740276
>Murder Mystery what's that
>its more accessible so its bad
>>73740297
>uhh, what is this noise? Is huwting muh ears, please make a soft wock album
Ironically Cale's most accessible solo albums are by far his best
>>73739355
This is their best album you dumbo.
