I've only ever heard a couple of country albums but this is one I really love.

If you want to hear very dark and mournful country listen to Johnny Cash's America IV & V

If you're braindead and like when the singer screams at you about how country and manly he is then listen to Florida Georgia Line and Toby Keith.

I desperately want to enjoy country, but i feel like there's about five artists holding up the integrity of an entire genre, the rest is pure garbage. Trying to find a unique, enjoyable country experience is a battle....

I feel that looking for a 'unique' experience when listening to country is where you're making a mistake. A lot of country follows the same templates and stuff, it's exceptional song writing that always gets me interested.

listen to chris stapleton and sturgill simpson. modern country but classic sentiment.
