Anyone else struggle to listen sit/lie down and listen to music

i literally spent all of today doing that

Try physical exercise or jogging to clear your mind

get some blinds for your windows if its that much of a problem for you

I have no trouble focusing on music during the day though.
Try doing things that might relax you (take a shower, make some tea, etc)

I listen to music while doing menial tasks like working, driving, reading and cleaning, I can still pay attention to most of the music

That's what I normally do. I also like to read about the album I'm listening to and find every single thing possible on the internet regarding the band.

Also you could try a more visual based movie (with the sound down) to look at while the music plays. Maybe horror, action, surreal, arty, etc.
