Guitar's a string instrument so it's borderline impossible to get an actually realistic fully symthesized guitar sound. It has a certain percussive quality most melodic instruments don't have which either allows for techniques that don't work with other instruments or create a sound most visceral when supplemented with a couple other instruments. Check out guitarists like John Fahry, John Williams, Derek Bailey, or Sonny Sharrock for the good shit.
