I believe true good music is not defined by sponsorship or being underground, but by the talent of a musician or group of musicians coming together in an intricate way. Good music is inspiring, thoughtful, uplifting or depressing, and sometimes just right. The majority of members on this board rate any piece of work on their own scale of interest, and I do not like this mindset. View music for its merits, some albums are meant to be enjoyed for specific purposes, not re-listened to 4 times so you understand it.

Listen to an album when you feel like listening to it, and don't take the opinion of internet pseudo-nerds as fact, because their personal live are likely lacking and very depressing. To only revolve around music as a singular hobby is to stifle oneself, and this board is a gardener of these beings. Remain true, anons who will probably never read this. Listen to whoever the hell you want when they appeal to you, for it is the language of the soul.

Goodbye /mu/, after nearly two decades I am finally fed up with the constant battle of youngin's vs. oldfags, pleb vs. patrician. If you're new here, try giving the top 10 /mu/core albums a listen, and explore in any genre you care to. They're /mu/core for a reason.

Those are actually very comprehensive lists. Stigma of using lists compiled by other people/ conforming to the common tastes of a group (no matter how contrarian said group is) aside, these seem like highly competent and useful lists with more depth than many 'entry level' lists.
There's quite a lot of prog on there I've yet to check out but I have several complaints:

-There is no Jazz Fusion chart
-Slavic progressive rock is underrepresented (as in none, SBB and Modry Efekt at the very least deserve mention)
