What was /mu/'s opinion on Crack Up?
Tony Tano is taking too long to review it and I need someone to tell me what to think
It's decent I guess they went in some really cool directions with it which I hope carry into the later work but fuck if some of those songs weren't boring as hell.
Kept Woman and On Another Ocean for example, duds.
Critical community gave it an 8/10 which honestly is shocking. I and many others here feel it's possibly a masterpiece and 10/10. In either case it's very good so just listen to it.
From what I've seen, /mu/ has mostly been incredibly positive about it and feels like it's being critically under-received.
I haven't really listened enough yet to have a good opinion on it, but Helplessness Blues was my AOTY that year. I can say I'm definitely not disappointed right now, but I've only spun it twice. Glad they're back.

They will never ever make anything as good as Tiger Mountain Peasant Song again so whats the point
Good moments that don't develop into good songs

>feels like it's being critically under-received.
For sure. It has 81 or 82 on Metacritic. DAMN has a 96. Both scores are baffling and if they were switched would make world's more sense

This
Wish they'd just make a whole album of comfy forest songs.

I like they this record pretty much shuts up all those people that compare them to Mumford and Sons, though.
This album pretty clearly cements Fleet Foxes as a different type of thing than that.
