Almost five years later, what are your thoughts on this

It's a fantastic album, minus the guitar solo and the fact that it ends in a fade out

It's like the musical equivalent of being fucked in the ass so roughly that you pass out

It's my wife's son's favorite album

It got me into black metal. I still like it now.

I never understood why's everyone calling it "black metal"
It sounds basically the same as Envy, so post-hardcore is a more fitting label

It's a great album musically, they have an interesting style and the lyrics are excellent.
Its impact was negative because it launched a wave of ripoffs and, worse, established bands trying to "go blackgaze", as well as inviting posers into the realm by inexplicably getting a lot of media attention and being an "edgy, extreme" album that they could pretend to like.

seeing deafheaven live from up close is in my top 5 moments in live music, they really give it all.

listen to roads to judah, it's amazing too.

in my opinion one of the few bands that is capable of releasing a true 10/10 in the future if they'll fix the mistakes they made with new bermuda and go little more experimental without losing that sunbather-y feel
