They were. My brother had pretty much every single they released up until Champagne Supernova and Wonderwall blew up here.
It's still funny to me that Oasis were considered an "exotic and alternative" college radio/120 Minutes-type band here at a time when they were already full-blown popstars in the UK and Europe.
