>guitar """solo"""
>the band keep playing underneath
at least drum solos are actual solos, get your shit together guitarists
Harmonic context is need to make any solo sound good
>>73517408
but why is it called a solo?
>guitar solo is pre written
>>73517476
cuz reasons
>>73517476
sometimes its called a lead
>>73517320
sorry todays music couldn't satisfy your need of a retardedly long dadrock solo gramps
>>73517912
Don't try if you can't simple as that. If you aren't making a nice melodic solo that goes well with the song, you better better a talented guitarist and have a shred.
Two alternatives. Make it a bridge, or show off.
solo instrumentals are fucking awful though
>>73519612
Not if the player is justifiably good enough. If it's something like Ringo Starrs little solo, it's pointless. Whereas if its a Ginger Baker solo, people are more inclined to listen.
Solo's are more for the artists i think. If you don't play an instrument, you aren't going to appreciate what theyre doing as much. I can sit there and listen to drum solo's on repeat, solely because its fasinating watching their technique and style at their best.
drums dont count as another instrument during a guitar solo
>>73519742
Yes they do? They keep the rhythm, and depending on the ability of the drummer, play along with the melody too.
>>73519760
that doesnt mean its not a guitar solo
>>73519843
>solo (plural solos)
>(music) A piece of music for one performer.
>>73519843
Of course it's still a guitar solo, but drums are still another instrument playing?
OP meant at least drum solo's are interesting, not interesting during guitar solos? How badly did you read OP?
>>73517320
>maybe if I bend the shit out of this one really high note, everybody will think I'm good

Maybe you should listen to actual accomplished guitarists play a solo.
>guitar solo at the same time as a flute and sax solo
