I've listened to this album twice and this is where I utterly lose the remnants of fortitude I had left up until that point. I also saw it performed live, but was broken during the first song on the set list, which was not one from the album.

The second verse on "Real Death" and the opening to "Seaweed" got me real fucking good, too. Brutal shit. It's not for entertainment.

Angel Guts is so underrated. That album really solidified Jamie's ability to create insanely dense atmospheres with music, when he wants to. All other Xiu Xiu records are nice but none of them have a mood as consistent and dark and fucking palpable as Angel Guts.
