Post your favorite jazz album and others tell you if it's rockist jazz or not

the answer for me is definitely yes
My fav jazz albums are Giant Steps by John Coltrane and Change of the Century by Ornette Coleman
Music is for emotional profoundness. So why would I listen to monotone jazz music?

I don't know shit about jazz but my favourite is:
>john Coltrane - Africa/brass

so by that definition the only true, non-rockist jazz is early swing and r&b 78 rpm singles
>>73454323
yes
also old radio broadcasts and live jazz
being judged as rockist is a harsh world

Nice bait, man. You really got me good with that one. Wew I'm laughing hard.
the only rockist meme i hate is the one where people put down listening to compilations, esp. best ofs. it excludes so much great music by older artists or artists with a lot of filler per album
Black Saint And The Sinner Lady, yes I know it's kinda cliche but it's just too goddamn fantastic. Also I haven't heard THAT much jazz but I'm starting to get to the point where I listen to a new jazz album every day

i think theyre good ways to get into other artists (one of my favorite albums, rupture's israel suite, i found out through the freedom jazz france comp) but in general i think that people who say that theyre 'the best albums' or put them down as their favorite dont get it
