Tbh I actually thought Grimes was a man (a bunch of men, actually - a collective of male producers from differing genres - all passing themselves of as a single cohesive artist) featuring a quirky-looking female accomplice as a figurehead (kinda like one of Titanic Sinclair's machinations but on a much larger, intercontinental scale) when I first discussed her existence via randomly watching the music videos for Oblivion and Genesis. Imo apart from the way she looks and her voice sounds, there's really nothing inherently feminine seeming about Grimes at all. It's one of the things I like about it desu.

Okay, I know Claire personally. I don't feel comfortable sharing this as she may find out who leaked this without her permission, but I know I'm amongst trustworthy friends here who will protect me and have my back. A few years back, me and Claire, along with a small group of 6 other people did a volunteer event in which we presented a seminar/workshop for foster kids. The purpose of the event was for young adults who were separated from their parents to asks questions and receive advice from our panel about what to do after high school. Those in the panel were staying in the same hotel and thought car pooling would better since it meant less rental cars and pollution, etc. I was in the group that Claire was in. We would take turns throughout the day switching up the driver. I remember Claire was asked to drive and pick us up some food we had ordered. I decided to go with her to help her out. This is where I got to meet the real Claire Boucher. While driving towards a 4 lane intersection I noticed the stoplight coming up had gone from green to yellow. The law states that a yellow light states for caution and that all drives should begin slowly their vehicles down, prepping for stoppage. Claire however did not. She did the exact opposite. She speed right through the yellow. I was flabbergasted. I couldn't believe what I just saw. Immediately I said to Claire, "do you realize what you just did". She simply replied "yeah, we almost got stuck in some nasty traffic". I couldn't believe that Claire had the audacity to say something like that so nonchalantly. I've never seen someone break the law before and show not even the slightest bit of sympathy or remorse. After that day, I never saw Claire the same nor did I want to be near her ever again.

It's funny how many times people claimed that another artist dethroned Grimes. This month the hyped artists are Lorde and Molly from Alvvays. When they will manage to surpass the Grimesposting, then the naysayers will have a point.

I think the common route of misadventure with drug users is that they don't know what they're buying (was this made in a lab or a bathtub?) and they don't know the dosages to take... mostly because there are no guides.
