Make a rash assessment of this album so far
For me, 7/10 after one quick listen through

i have yet to see anyone i care, including me, about give it something other than 7. guess i care about you, OP <3
It was disappointing in my opinion. Telefono is good, though.
OP again, thought I'd give it another more attentive listen through
J-Boy 7
Ti Amo 7
Tuttifrutti 6
Fior Di Latte 5
Lovelife 5
Goodbye Soleil 5
Fleur de Lys 6
Role Model 6
Via Veneto 6
Telefono 8
Most songs sound pretty much the same, consistently OK, but nothing amazing. Apart from the first two and the last one song, the rest is fairly forgettable. Those three songs are catchy though.
Overall I'd say it's closer to a 6, but it may grow on me
>Phoenix has released two albums since vampire weekend released their last album
Makes you think, huh?
I'd give it a 7.5, it's okay
Love the run from J-Boy to Goodbye Soleil - I always enjoy Phoenix's records, mainly on a very surface level, because they're painstakingly engineered to be as catchy and breezy as possible.
Not huge on most of the rest of the album but Telefono is great.
After a couple listens I'd say it's certainly better than Bankrupt!, at the very least.
I quite enjoy their brand of Synthpop and Ti Amo's honestly above average in its genre, it's very catchy (and that's kind of the point). I enjoyed the Eurobeat influences in it. Nevertheless, I still prefer Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix, that album's just great.
