>>73423280
Peasant is honestly AOTY
>>73423352
Neil Cicierega is a meme but I would be kidding myself if I didn't put him high on the list. His music is just too fucking hysterical for me.
I guess I can sort of see why FJM's new one rubbed some people the wrong way, but personally I'm the kind of person who was fighting back a chuckle when he sung "some chorusless 10-verse diatribe" in "Leaving L.A.".
Only the top two I think are particularly strong, but:
1. Sun Kil Moon
2. Perfume Genius
3. Richard Dawson
4. Tiny Hazard
5. Bardo Pond

How is that new Robyn Hitchock? I like his early stuff but that's all I know.
1- Xiu Xiu - FORGET
2- Forest Swords - Compassion
3- Colin Stetson - All This I Do For Glory
4- Ryuichi Sakamoto - async
5- (Sandy) Alex G - Rocket
I have so much I have too listen to, actually I've listened to a lot only ones that stood out have been squarepusher's band and jamiroqui s album .
>>73423425
I'm coming from the total opposite direction because I've never heard any Robyn Hitchcock stuff before this (or the Soft Boys) but I just think it's a really damn solid 7/10 throwback-y psych rock album. Just some really nice tunes on there and not really any duds.

I love Neil's music and comedy and thought all 3 Mouth albums were fucking great and hilarious, but I noticed I can only listen to them once or twice before the appeal quickly fades. It's a weird phenomenon because they were so funny and enjoyable to me on the first listen. I guess once you've already heard a certain joke once or twice, it loses its appeal.
Something needs high relisten value for me to make my yearly favorites.
