Once spotify is your only source of music and piracy / storing your own media files have become a thing of the past nothing stops spotify from cutting down their catalogue. Some artists might also not get to release their music on spotify, possibly because of policies spotify hasn't yet releases but might in the future. Using spotify is for people who don't care about self-sufficiency.
