I think the bigger problem is that these people are convinced that because rock/indie isn't as big in the mainstream, that it's dead

maybe that'd be true 20-25 years ago but in the age of streaming the underground has never been more accessible. for a genre to go 'underground' isn't really a death knell anymore

But don't you guys all just love the groovy new hip-hop music? :)
