Hey /mu/, how do I into Art music? And by that I mean Western classical. I listened to pic related and even though it's contemporary it has me wanting to explore more of the genre.
So, is there any easy way to start getting into art music, ideally starting points in each era. The only experience I have is listening to some Baroque compositions for my music theory classes, which I enjoyed very much.
Thanks!
Bump because I also just listened to this and wanted more.

You could try out the French/impressionist fags like Debussy, Ravel, Bozza, Poulenc. They're pretty cool. Also why do you imply it's hard to get into? Do you mean there's just so much of it?
I would make a longer post but i'm a bit stressed for time so I'll make it quick. there really isn't a good way and at the beginning you kinda just gotta figure out what you like about music (do you like dreamy music? angry? happy? etc) and go from there, there's something for everyone in classical
>cute happy
Mozart piano sonatas, start with K333
>triumphant happy
Beethoven symphonies 3, 7
Schubert symphony 9
>angry/somber
Prokofiev piano concerto 2
Stravinsky Le Sacre
Shostakovich symphony 5, 10
>im sad and lonely and need stuff with lyrics and also speak German/not too lazy to read translations while listening
Schubert Winterreise
Schumann Dichterliebe
>complex
any Bach work. start with organ stuff I guess
>fuck me in the ass with Romanticism
Poulenc nocturnes
Brahms op 76, 118
Chopin nocturnes
