Is it easier to remix/arrange a song, or write an entirely

Personally, it's easier to write original pieces from scratch. There's so much high standards for remixing music that everybody will shit on it if you don't use the correct snare sample or pan something to the "wrong ear" as it's said.
Remix artists seem really pretentious and picky with remixes.
