Is it a bad idea to try to sharpen my lyrical abilities by doing "rhyme games"? I come up with a word and then write as many rhymes with it as I can. I usually scratch out the first few for being too obvious unless I know they're really unusual.
Is this actually useful or is it a waste of time? I haven't been writing long enough to know.
I also make web diagrams. I write down a word, and then write the first things that come to mind, branching off of the original word, and so on.
why bad? keep doing it, i have the desire to write but i never do it
Yes it is useful. Being creative, even if it is only making diagrams or writing your thoughts down, is great practice.
keep it up man. if you enjoy writing, then keep practicing and making shit. then make some more shit. then some more shit that is much better than the previous shit. eventually you will get good at it.
