Because I need to keep one ear open at school in case somebody wants to say something to me, I don't want to not hear them and make it seem like I'm ignoring them. I also like to listen to music during some lectures, but I don't want to miss stuff.

It's dual mono so each ear has a mono recording of the different instruments used on the album. One ear with have the guitar pieces while the other ear has percussion.
