The first time I listened to The Shin's was on a road trip. I think it was Port If Morrow, but Oh, Inverted World is also an amazing album.
Obviously it depends on the type of road trip though. If you're with friends or want to be hyped, I love listening to Talon Of The Hawk by The Front Bottoms. But if it's more of a relaxed drive, sometimes post rock can be good. Stranger by Balmorhea is a personal favorite. Prog rock is also a good choice, I'd recommend Tubular Bells by Mike Oldfield. It's quite action packed, and interesting to listen to.
Or just listen to pic related, desu.
Im on an overnight bus from Poland to Germany.
I have a playlist on loop of 1 track.

I do regular 9-10 hour drives to college and back home, definitely want to loaf up your phone/ipod with some albums and queue them all up
I have CDs for this purpose but it's almost too difficult to put them into the stereo while driving
If you're going fast, Songs for the Deaf.
