As far as I'm concerned, in my opinion, I lose respect for a band immediately if my first reaction is "I could enjoy this if I was on drugs."

Sure listening to certain albums when stoned, drunk, or tripping is a lot of fun, but if I can't listen to the same album when I'm stone cold sober, then it's a waste of my time.
