Anyhow, I like his aolo stuff but i think that it's not as easy to listen to as his Songs: Ohia days, I think he was to far down the bottle in those days. Good shit thouhh, just really heartbreaking and mournful.

Definitely. It's tough because he really is one of my favorite musicians but listening to him regularly really does put you in that kind of mindset.

Yeah, he's one of the musicians I listen to regularly too. Do you know of any other bands or solo projects that sound like his or have that lonely blues guitar feel to them? I tried Sun, Kil Moon and Damien Jurado, great stuff but still not the same feeling I get from his music.

I haven't found anything that quite hits the same spot but maybe try Neil Young's albums On the Beach and Tonight's the Night. They aren't quite as lonesome but I think Jason and Neil had a lot in common sonically at some points. And they're two Neil's best.

Maybe try some Will Oldham too. Especially his earlier albums as Palace Brothers/Palace Music and his first two as Bonnie 'Prince' Billy.

Have you listened to the Molina and Johnson album he did with Will Johnson?

Giving Neil Young a try, listening to On the Beach right now, so far so good. Very different emotional tone to a lot of the same subjects. Not disappointed, thanks for the recommendation.

I think What Comes After the Blues and Fading Trails are his best albums.
