OP here, I didn't think my cunning plan all the way through, this will take a while. I might have to skip through some songs a little bit too, but I will do my best I swear.

Maybe I'll do three replies at a time.

>>73217549

Not a bad concept, certainly one of the better promotional songs. Pretty dope, wholesome, made me laugh too. Surprisingly not cringy. 7.5/10

>>73217556

Not a bad pop song desu, but I listen to CRJ so I'm a huge faggot. 6/10 because it's corny and Ludacris' appearance is totally unnecessary, I hate when they shoehorn rap shit into otherwise decent pop songs

>>73217566

Soulful af, goddamn. The piano works so well, nice & slow punchy bassline, guitar works really well too. I could see myself committing suicide to this song. 8/10

>>
>>73217573

Jesus christ, painful. Not even funny in an ironic way like Pink Guy, just terrible. Still, the lyrics...work, I guess. Pretty awful. 3/10, fuck yourself.

>>73217574

Surprisingly accessible for a Deaf Grimps song, enjoyable production on this, I can actually understand MC Ride's lyrics, pretty cool. Good visuals too. Although it does get a bit repetitive at times, although it maintains a nice dynamic. I'll give it a 7.5/10

>>73217578

Intro grabbed me right away, nice rhythm, but gets a little messy pretty early on. Still maintains a sense of cohesion though, vocals are a bit plain but not bad. Gets me pretty pumped. The solo was fucking sick too. I actually really like this, I might add some to my rock playlist, thanks. 8/10

>>73217587

Honestly I'm not crazy about Nico's voice, but this is nice. Dreamy, kind of has a sense of innocence and nostalgia about it with the distant sounding orchestral arrangement. Very pleasant, nice music for a walk in the woods or something. 7/10

Nice rhythm, voice sounded a bit grating at first but that wore off, I liked it. Weird video, cute redhead too. I like the use of horns. 7/10

>>73217614

You fucker. The production in this song is actually alright, but god her voice is so obnoxious during verses. The chorus is actually okay though. I feel like the instrumentation on this song is kind of wasted on her trash verses but like I said at least the chorus isn't bad. I'll give it a 6/10

>>73217651

At least it's not Rebecca Black levels of awful. Lyrics made me want to kill myself. Production is trash too. And the autotune, goddamn. Is that actually not ironic? Jesus fuck. Earlier I said I hate when they shoehorn rap bars into otherwise decent pop songs, but since this shit is so awful it was a nice respite. 3/10 since at least the vocals aren't completely horrible and the rap made me want to not kill myself as much for a while.

>>73217686

At first you were trolling me with some racist song. Actually pretty dope, sounds a bit...scratchy and fuzzy? I'm sure there's a better term to describe what I mean. Sample is nice but gets a bit repetitive, it could use some more dynamism. Good flows though, nice beat. I enjoyed it. 7/10

>>73217720

I'm disturbed. This video is like a scene from Naked Lunch. Musically I guess it was pretty cool, the flows were a bit disjointed at times though. Production is a bit amateurish too. Still it was not bad. I'll give it a 6.5/10

>>73217817

Sounds a bit sparse, nice beat though. A bit odd though because it's mellow, but also makes me wanna bop my head. The song really improved IMO around the 2:50 minute mark, I like the introduction of that new instrument. Still probably a bit too long, though. I'll give it a 6.5/10

>>73217889
>>73217910

samefag?

Immediately reminded me of playing Phantasy Star Online for some reason. Sounds like something they would play in da club at a space station in the future. Fucking dope production too, bass sounds nice. Mostly I really liked the futuristic sound and didn't mind the pseudo-dubstep drops. Not sure the record scratching really worked though. Still, very enjoyable. Added to my electronica playlist. 8/10

>>73217933

Fucking impressive, not really my cup of tea, I usually enjoy the more mellow and introspective classical type of music. But this was certainly impressive and if you like this kind of fast paced technical stuff, I imagine it's right up your alley. I'll give it a 7/10 just because it's cool.

Seemed very generic at first. Something about a british accent in rap & hip hop is cool to me so that's good. Sample got a bit tiresome, nice beat though. Lyrics were okay from what I could understand. What's up with the guy in the mask? Bitch you ain't no MF Doom. Not bad if you're into hip hop I guess but got a bit repetitive. I like it when they mix up the production a bit more. 6/10

>>73217948

Pretty good, has a kind of persistent power to it. Very nice rhythm, got a bit overwhelming around 1:00 to 1:30, wasn't crazy about that. But then it calmed down so it balanced out. Not a bad song, I could see myself bumping this on a nice summer drive in the city. 7/10

>>73217951

I know it's a shit opinion but I'm not crazy about the Ramones, their songs are all pretty samey and aren't really that meaty, if that makes sense. Still I guess this was okay and not offensive to my ears, even if I got tired of it pretty quickly. 5/10

>>73218059

You're really making me watch this fat fuck aren't you? This one was okay. Especially the "nick nick nick" thing. lmao. Honestly though I'm not sure what I'm supposed to get out of this guy's music, it's not ironically funny enough to warrant the mediocre production, the lyrics aren't that great either. 5/10

>>73218103

Interesting rhythm. As for the raps, kind of reminds me of Killer Mike. Certainly not a typical hip hop song, when it changed up at 1:14 it really got cool. From this point on it got very rich and dynamic. Unique. Really badass actually. 8.5/10

Jesus dude. You're really shilling this guy. This one is okay. Good flow, sample isn't god awful. Bass isn't overpowering. This one is dense at least, but still not that enjoyable to listen to, the bass was kind of annoying. Still I think this is the best one I've heard so far. 6/10

>>73218137

Oh lawdy, here we go. I was wondering when the K Pop fags would show up. The "Whoa~" refrain is okay. Nice chorus, cool, funky, driving sound. But I mean nobody watches these videos for the music (j/k, sorta). This one is not bad. I'll give it a 7/10.

>>73218165

Interesting. Chiptunes doesn't usually have this kind of sound (this is chiptunes, right?). This is pretty neat. The percussion is really tight, makes for a nice contrast to the other instruments. Love the spacy turn it takes around 1:15. This song sounds messy on the surface but it really does have a nice, tight rhythm. However, it's a bit more dissonant than I typically prefer. 7.5/10.

My IQ is a perfect 100, thank you very much. This song is pretty cool, kind of reminds me of the Dexter's Lab opening song. Nice layering of instruments, the cymbal was a bit annoying though. Loved the western-style whistling. All in all a nice mixture of different sounds and styles. Not something I would listen to for fun though. Would sound right at home on a soundtrack for a black comedy or something. 7/10

>>73218282

What a weird mix of sounds. Kind of reminded me of taking acid in the woods or something. Kind of spooky. The cowbell got kind of obnoxious though. Still, if I wanted to listen to something unusual I would put it on. 6.5/10

>>73218307

Honestly I don't like metal but I'll try to look past it for this thread. Just looking at the art and title, I figured this was Cannibal Corpse or something. This is pretty brutal, the music itself is not bad. It's driving, harsh, and angry. I feel like his vocals are not really adding much, aside giving it an atmosphere of madness and chaos. I can't see myself just chilling and listening to metal for fun, but if I were drunk or angry and wanted some catharsis I would. Sorry if this offends you but this strikes me as pretty typical metal, nothing really special about it. The musicianship is on point but it sounds fairly by-the-numbers. 5/10

Pretty cool, very malicious-sounding, makes me think of a dark, edgy gangster movie. But maybe that's the cover art influencing me. Loved the beat change at 1:20. This song really got me moving my feet and head. I could see myself grooving to this on the dance floor. Fairly dynamic too. Liked the effects on the voice. All in all very good. 8/10

>>73218359

Okay, so it's spoken word? I'm here to review music, friend. The quiet music in the background sounded good, I guess? I would like to listen to this another time and pay attention to the words but I have many more videos to watch. From what I've caught it sounds like nice poetry.

>>73218374

Nice folky sound. Not crazy about the guy's voice, but it's not terribly offensive. The harmonica was a bit much. I feel like it took up too much space on the track. Would have liked to hear some more variety there. I wasn't crazy about this one. 4/10

I think I remember watching this video on MTV back in the day. Nice beat, nice composition, good voice. Lyrics were a bit lacking, but that's forgivable. Good song, but could have used a bit more variety. 7/10

>>73218540

Nah, that's cheating! I'll do the first one though. This has a nice atmospheric sound, the vocals really brought it up a notch for me. The percussion was a bit overpowering and harsh, but aside from that I enjoyed it. Kind of reminds me a bit of Burial. 6.5/10

>>73218722

Not crazy about the drumbeat here right off the bat. Sounds like that's going to remain for the rest of the song, that's a shame. The vocals are not great either. Lyrics aren't terribly original either. I like this guy's style, the video is cool. Chance's appearance is welcome, but I don't think it can really save it. Interesting little tune, I gotta say, I didn't expect those vocals. This strikes me as an early Brand New demo track or something. Vocals seemed unnecessarily harsh. Not really that great. 5/10

>>73218776

Pretty cool, I'm not even sure what genre to call this. I guess it's supposed to be a club track. Drums are a bit overpowering, but I guess that's the idea. Vocals were very good. Interesting video too. I thought it was pretty good. 7/10

>>73218779

I choose not to do this one since you said you were going to bed and it's 5:03 anyway which means it's technically against my rule. And you've made me listen to like 3 of this guy's songs

>>73218805

Nice driving rhythm. Good vocals. Could have used a bit more variety IMO but pretty good. It's fairly short so maybe it doesn't need any more variety. I'll give it a 7.5/10 for the nice little package that it is.

Intro was a bit drawn out. The muddy sound was a bit deterrent at first, but I get what they're going for. This song has a very spooky kind of feel to it. I like how the song kind of builds momentum and climaxes near the end. Very cool, I enjoyed being taken on the trip. 7.5/10

>>73218836

Gotta love The Smiths. I like this song, makes me feel nostalgic. Has a nice beat, Morrissey is on point as usual. The weird whooping vocal effect in this song is a bit weird and it's used a bit too much for my liking, and it's a bit repetitive. But not bad I guess. 6.5/10

>>73218838

I don't know what they're singing about. Maybe it's something cool but really this song isn't very complex. Vocals are fine, nothing to write home about. It's nice I guess, just not much meat to it. Sounds like something you would sing if you're in a cult. 5/10
>>
>>73218851

Too long, should have been trimmed down in post. However this track really gives you a sense of what you're in for when it comes to Napalm Death. You can sense the palpable anger and violence behind their sound even in this succinct track. 7/10

>>73218889

Ooh, I like the arrangement on this track right away. Vocals are not terribly dynamic as far as range but it works. Love the beat, love the variation. Brought it very nicely to the solo at 1:55, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I will be adding this album to my "listen later" playlist. Fuckin' ace track my dude. I hope the rest of the album is as good. 9/10

>>73218934

Motherfucking Enya. Didn't she make an album using a made-up language? That's the last I ever heard of her. I definitely had this track on rotation back in the day. Very soothing, very calming, typical Enya. Nice arrangement, good mixture of instruments. Love the strings. I wonder how many young girls used this song in their dance recitals. 7/10 because it's a bit of a one trick pony and kind of overstays its welcome. You could probably trim this down to a 3 minute song and I wouldn't even notice.

Is this actually Ethan? lol. I didn't know he made music. The vocals are high pitched but surprisingly it didn't bother me as much as I expected. Judging it as a twee folk song, I think it's on par at least. The guitar is a bit wonky but it kinda works for the mood of the song. I feel like even though the vocals were tolerable, they could have been better. The addition of horns or maybe piano, at least near the end of the song, would have been good. All in all it just kinda feels incomplete. 6.5/10

>>73219091

This goes past 5 minutes but I mean, shit. It's a gregorian chant. What do you want? Sounds pretty typical. Or is that just my pleb showing? I enjoyed the higher pitched choir. Makes me want to convert to Catholicism out of fear of God. 6/10

>>73219151

I've gone this far, by god, and I intend to finish what I started. And plus I'm discovering some really cool new music! I'll probably do this thread again with a warning that it might be a bit of a wait, I didn't expect this to get so many replies to be honest. That said, your track:

Reminds me of Borat. The organ is pretty legit. Nice beat, made me want to go to a Barmitzvah. The vocals were enjoyable, I liked the harmony with the woman. I felt like it could have used the addition of another instrument though, to give it some more texture. The change around 3:30 was pretty cool, it kind of gave it a church-y sound since the organ was there on its own. I liked the dreamy vocals afterwards. 7.5/10

Pretty dope. I liked the pounding bass, it gave it a really powerful feel. Good composition too, very dynamic, didn't feel stale at all. His flow sounded good too, I don't know the language so I can't judge that. Cool visuals in the video. I haven't heard many Korean club bangers (is that what this would be?) but if this is typical for the genre it might be worth checking out. 7.5/10

>>73219711

Lol, this is awesome. What genre even is this? It's certainly unique, and not too bad. Good driving beat, funny, kinda reminds me of Gogol Bordello but with more of an edge. I enjoyed it. Would listen to while working out and/or killing capitalist pigdogs. 7/10

>>73219725

Oh, Charli XCX. You're so trashy, but I love you. This one has a nice beat, good punchy drums. It feels a bit sparse though. You know you can use more than one instrument at once, silly girl. I liked the change at 1:34, that's more what I wanna hear. Still feels thin though. It could have used a vocal harmony or something like that. And jesus christ, is she actually holding up a beats boombox? I want to trash it just for that. But it's not a bad song, I guess. I enjoyed the ending. That synth bed should have been used earlier. I'll go 6/10

Oh hey, my friend showed me this album once. I was surprised he even had solo stuff. Nice use of the vocal changer on this song. The layering in the latter half of the song was nice. Very full sounding. What a sad song too. 7.5/10

Right away I was reminded of The Girl from Ipanema. What a lovely, dreamy, nostalgic song. Her voice is so cute, and works well with his. If I ever find myself on a beach with a cutie I'll be putting this on for sure. I don't know what they're saying but I almost don't want to. The way it makes me feel is just fine. This isn't overly complex obviously but that's not what this song is about. Fuckin nice. Makes me feel like maybe life is okay. 8.5/10

>>73219771

Oh, shit. This fuckin' song. Pretty dope actually, it's just bursting with energy, has guitar, horns, good percussion, and throws that energy right into the chorus, although honestly it's a bit of a letdown when it hits. I feel like the chorus could "blow up" more, bit of a missed opportunity there. Although I think Ricky Martin's voice isn't that great honestly. I mean it's okay, just nothing special. I'll give it 6.5/10

10/10 video, song is absolute garbage. Oh Viper. You silly man. At least the sample isn't terrible, but pretty sure it's just put on a loop. Obviously the vocals are utter trash. The hawaii five 0 intro playing fucking kills me. 2/10

>>73219781

Never heard of this singer before. Pretty cool actually, interesting and subtle effects on her voice. I like the snapping, the song is pretty dynamic too. I like the introduction of the guitar and the funky beat after the 1 minute mark. Her voice is so lovely and relaxing, not to mention fairly unique. A bit of a weak ending, but that's forgivable. Added to my pop playlist, nice one. 8/10

>>73219803

Fuckin' love this movie, and this song. Simple, but effective. This song shows how much character a voice can have. The lyrics are a nice rustic poem. It's just a nice, head-bopping song that just gushes soul. The vocals are obviously what makes this so good, but the guitar actually manages to sound fairly dynamic. 8/10

You made this? Right off the bat I like the sound. I like the composition, very pleasant. The verse at 1:10 was really cool, too. The lyrics are a bit dubious in places but it's overall not bad. I just really liked the production most on this song. But the rapping and accompaniment was good too. I would work on making your rapping a bit more dynamic, a bit less monotone (maybe that's not the right word). But yeah, definitely good. 7/10

>>73219932

I love the rain but I'm not sure the rain falling during this song really works. It seems like a bit more of a distraction than anything. That said, the vocals are okay, a bit whiny-sounding maybe. I liked the piano. A bit repetitive I guess. The horns are okay but I didn't expect them to sound like that. Clearly I'm a pleb judging by the likes that video has but I wasn't really crazy about it. 6/10

>>73219989

A bit uninspired if I'm being honest, the horns were cool but the whole "nationalistic chorus" thing is so lame. It'd be better if it had a dubstep drop or maybe some gunshots thrown in there to show they weren't fucking around. Still, I could see how this could inspire people to murder jews by the thousands. 5.5/10

Sounds like music from a JRPG. The change at :43 was pretty cool I guess. Not crazy about that blaring horn thing it has going on though. the 1 min mark was better. Overall this is not good in my opinion, sounds like a poor man's version of a track from the Matrix or something. 4.5/10

>>73220015

Pretty typical pop rock beat, the guy's voice is pretty interesting though. Strikes me as very 90's alternative, right down to the music video style. Not crazy about this one though if I'm being honest, the constant one-note guitar strumming is just not good. Not when you do it that much. The drumming is pretty good but yeah, just not crazy about this song in general. I think the last third of the song is better, but still not great. 5/10

>>73220016

I like the bed of choral voices on this one, it's a nice support to the powerful vocals. The horns are also pretty edgy. That said, it could use some more complexity in the composition, maybe throw a bridge in there or a sick ass drum solo. Honestly after the 1 minute mark it's like, "okay, I get it. We gotta kill some people or whatever". 5/10

I dig the beat, and Neko Case is fuckin awesome. This band usually doesn't disappoint. I feel like her vocals could have been amped up a bit more, but yeah, good song. I liked the crazy breakdown(?) around 2:30. I like the chaotic sound of this song although the crooning got a bit wacky at times. 7.5/10

>>73220049

Thanks friend, I think you're cool too. Although I'm not crazy about this song. It's just kinda...jerky? The stop and go thing doesn't really work for me. The percussion gets a bit tiresome too. I like the way the vocals bounce around during the song and seem to come at you from different directions, and the other guy singing (lower voice) is cool I guess. I'll give it a 6/10 because you're nice

>>73220077

Intro made me laugh. As for the song, um...holy shit, this is pretty intense. As a punk song I would say it works pretty well, I dug the edgy bass coming in around 1 min and the sound changing up around 1:40. Way to bring it back around to a more typical Beastie Boys sound. All in all a pretty funny song, but not really something I would listen to for sheer enjoyment, but that might be my personal taste. I'll go 6.5/10

I am, thanks. Hope you are too. This track though, holy heck. I'm spooked. I wish I had surround sound, I feel like that would be cool. This song is so abrasive, damn. I imagine this is what house bands sound like in hell. Judging this as a representation of pain, noise, and rage, I would say it does a pretty good job. Normally I just don't like music that sounds violent and abrasive like this, but I can sort of "get" this one. And it's not all just noise and screeching like some bands do. This one seems to have a somewhat coherent structure at least and coupling that with their accurate representation of the violent concepts they're presumably going for I'll give it a 7.5/10.

>>73220129

Can't watch it in my country, sorry mate.

>>73220146

I hope I can honestly believe the title of this song when my time comes. I like this tune, it's very chill and has a very nice ambiance. The vocals work well too, I like the harmony. I wasn't expecting the change at 1:45 but I feel like it worked really well as a crescendo to bring the song to its conclusion. Not bad at all. 7/10

>>73220281

Interesting composition, not sure if I like how the vocals are overpowered by everything else, but I do like the layering and fast, driving pace of the song. Until 1:50...wow, I wasn't expecting that change. But it is welcome, I think the fast pace for all 4:42 would have worn me out before the end. I like the introduction of the trumpet at 3:30, it works pretty well. I also like how everything kind of explodes together for the finish. All in all this song was very good and complex, although the vocals were a bit lacking. I'll give it a 7.5/10 just for the sheer creativity of it.

A E S T H E T I C / 10

Not sure I like the buzzing synth(?) throughout the song. A bit overpowering and obnoxious. It does have a nice head bopping beat, but the vocals are a bit strange and he seems to rush the lyrics at times. But overall not bad, a nice eccentric tune that seems to have come out of the 80's of an alternate universe or something. 6/10

>>73220348

I dig the style of this song. Nice percussion, interesting rhythm, the vocals seem a bit quiet but maybe that was on purpose. I frankly don't know if this would be an ideal song to lose your virginity to, but it's a cool song anyway. I like the somewhat funky beats and the solo near the end. Not really quite my style of music but I can see why other people would like it. 6.5/10

>>73220358

Right away I love the sound. Very chill, and that voice at :38 holy hell that's awesome. And then the blending...perfect choice. Oh, it's so lovely. This song just keeps getting better and better. It has such a nice pace, and seamlessly shifts into different rhythms. And then there's a sax? What the fuck, this is awesome. The vocals at 3:30 are a bit jarring but it's barely anything to complain about. Wow, what a fucking cool song. I'll be checking out more from this band for sure. 9/10
>>
>>73220363

Nice twangy guitar to start it off, I like it. Whoa, what, this is hip hop? But it works! Lyrics are a bit simple but this song is about a simple feeling so that's okay. I like this song, it could use some more dynamic variation, not just the same sample over and over. But aside from that it's nice. A good song for just chillin at the campfire in summertime. 6.5/10

>>73220387

This song has such a sense of urgency. I like the organ. Good percussion too. 1:16 was a weird shift, but not bad. I liked the groove of it, then back into the driving beat. Definitely not bad, I'm sure it works even better in the context of the rest of the album too. 6.5/10

>>73220576

Nice pleasant vocals to start it off. The guitar is a nice accompaniment. I like the soaring harmony behind the vocals, gives it a cloudy, angelic kind of quality. Almost reminds me of something like My Morning Jacket. The strings near the end were a nice touch too. I don't know what the lyrics are but it has a really cool kind of folky feel to it. 7/10

Jesus fuck, what the hell am I listening to? I thought my speakers were having issues at times. This shit is fucking spooky and not in a good way. What's with the fucked up effect on the vocals? It doesn't seem to ever shift mood or rhythm either, just this hellish bed of noise with steady drums and these fucked up vocals like a robot drowning. It's almost interesting, in its own way, but not enough for me to want to listen to it. 3.5/10

>>73220679

What the fuck man, this is like something from the film Stalker, this is like what you would hear before the guys go into the center of the zone. What a sense of dread, mystery, and fear. The addition of drums around 1:32 gave this more of a musical feel and the weird noises put me on edge. For a horror movie I would give this a 7.5/10, as something to listen to otherwise I would say 4/10.

>>73220699

Oh hey, this song has been on my starred list for a long time now. I love the dreamy, soothing style of this song. I also love the excellent guitar riff that accompanies the song. Very dynamic too, I like songs that have "movements" (is that the right term?). Youth Lagoon does that really well. That said, the vocals are very washed out and distant sounding but maybe that was intentional, they seem to do that a lot. Mostly in this song I just love the coupling of that catchy guitar riff along with the piano. Great song. 8/10

>>73222431

The layers of harmony are a bit ridiculous early on but it's okay. I like the sort of ebb and flow that this song has, how the music flares up and dies down in accordance with Neil's singing. Great lyrics too. I like the sort of restrained power he has in his voice at times. The refrain gets a bit old after a while but that's okay because he always throws in a new movement to keep it fresh. The piano was a cool touch. All in all one of the better Neil Young songs, 7.5/10

>>73220900

This is over 5 mins but I'll go anyway. I like this song, it has a good beat and the vocals are solid. Reminds me a lot of Weezer. Interestingly though the guitar styles seem to bounce around, sometimes I'm almost reminded of a country song, or bluegrass. The movement at 3 mins is pretty cool and unexpected. Nice solo too. However as a whole it's almost like too much, it feels a bit overwhelming. If I were in the mood though I could see myself jamming out to this. 7/10

>>73220938

Hm. Is this like, a Japanese band who thinks they're The Cure? lol. Not bad I suppose, the solos were pretty neat. This song just screams 80s to me for some reason. I'm not crazy about the vocals though, maybe I would like it more if I could understand it. I feel like the song goes on too long, it could probably stand to be trimmed down. I'll go 6.5/10 since the solos were fucking cool.

Is this game actually good? I dig this song, at least. The melody is really cool. The bass is a nice accompaniment to it, it lends the song a sense of mystery. It has a really powerful ending too. Kinda makes me wanna play the game. 7.5/10

>>73220992

Pretty cool. Kinda reminds me of something off the self titled Gorillaz, but not quite as creative. That's okay though. It manages to keep it fresh with the different movements so that's great. The different movements themselves were a bit repetitive though, unfortunately. And the short vocal samples don't really add too much in my opinion. Still, it's not that bad. 6/10

>>73221020

This grabbed me right away. Very 80's sounding, like Blondie or some shit. I actually really dig it, the flute(?) is a nice touch, although it's probably a bit too overpowering at times. Nice, persistent beat. The vocals strangely fit. What the fuck is up with the video though, goddamn. 2:10 onward was probably the best part. All in all it's funky and I dig it. The "who am I, what is this" thing got a little annoying though, but it didn't last long. 8/10

Catchy hook right out of the gate. Oh, and the vocals are lovely. Reminds me a bit of Lavren Mayberry + a chick singer from the 90's, like Lisa Loeb maybe. All in all really enjoyable. >>73221804

Pretty cool, has a nice driving beat, but I feel like the vocals are a bit languid. The musical diversity is good too. It's not a bad song but it feels like it's lacking something, I can't tell what. It just doesn't seem terribly complex I guess? 6.5/10

I feel like a song this creative and expressive deserves at least a 8/10.

>>73221876

Nice beat, nice guitar riff. Vocals are a bit underwhelming in my opinion. The chorus was nice though. The bass was pretty on point in this song. However I just kind of thought it was a little...boring, sorry to say. I'll say 6/10

>>73221891

This is the Bee Gees? Wow. Almost sounds like the Beatles. I like the buildup around 1:07. The guitar is really on point in this song. And of course the vocal harmony is great, it's the Bee Gees. That said it did get a bit repetitive. I'll say 6.5/10

Honestly aside from the cringy as fuck lyrics it's kinda cool to have a hip hop song using swing samples. But hey that's just me. His flow is actually good too. The beat is repetitive though, and the song needs more variety, you can't just lean on the same swing sample the entire time. The fucking lyrics though, jesus christ. Best I can do is 5/10. The concept is honestly not terrible, but Unkle Adams is.

>>73221900

I dig it, very chill but has that classic rock edge to it. Awesome solo too, definitely bumped it up a notch or two. Nice song for a relaxing afternoon. 7/10

Not a fan of the droning flow here, and the production sounds kinda amateurish. That sample too, bleh. It gets a little better around 1 min. Not a fan of the lyrics either. This kind of reminds me of Pink Guy but I'm not sure if it's ironic or not. If this is your music, I'm sorry. There's some potential here, just needs a lot of refining. A lot...5/10.

Thanks, lol. Harsh, throbbing, almost. Just kinda sounds angry, but does get me kinda pumped. Feels like it might be lacking something though. This is the musical version of holding a still beating Pterodactyl heart in your hand.

>i respect your open mindedness op, /mu/ needs more of this.

Thanks dude, this is a pretty good way to expand my musical horizons if you ask me

This song is dope. I love love the vocals, very soulful and dynamic. Great rhythm, I love the guitar riffs. I love the wispy vocals at 1:00 and 1:30, among other places I'm sure. Honestly I can't find anything I don't really like about this song. This is like some crazy combination of math rock + R&B + Funk + I don't even know. All I know is it fucking works. I might actually buy this album 9/10

>>73222083

thanks friendo

Oh hey, it's Interpol. The vocals in this song are really cool, and I like the way the guitars kind of bounce off of each other. I like the switchup at 1:20, it sort of breathes new life into the song, not that it needed it. 2:44 is really cool too. All in all a pretty good Interpol song, they just have their own unique sort of sound in the rock world and they're great. 8/10

your elaboration on the music is really interactive and cool to hear. Im not into music journalism normally but i think you could do pretty well if you did reviews, especially if you had a second reviewer to add cynical humor to the mix as a like a juxtaposition or whatever. just a thought

Fleet Foxes are so cool, the ethereal quality and effect on his voice is really soothing. It's odd to not have a fuckton of vocal harmonies here since they always do that. I feel like if this were any other band this track might sound a bit sparse but I mean, it's folk so that's okay. And his voice is so powerful that it's kind of all you need. 7/10

>>73222112

Seeing this played live really adds to the experience, I think. It's always cool to see each part of the band doing their thing. This was a pretty spot on performance. The sax was really cool. Great performance, I'm sure these guys have a lot of neat songs. 7.5/10

>>73222152

This is not bad, but some of the verses were mumbly and I didn't get much from them. I did like the bass, the deep resonant kind of sound. I wish I could understand the lyrics. As a whole I think this song was pretty good, they had a nice variety of rappers so that helps. However like a lot of hip hop they leaned a bit too much on the same sample, some more variety would have been nice. 6.5/10

This was a really nice song, very soothing but with a nice bouncy beat. The piano was a welcome addition, the notes reminded me of raindrops falling down into the soundscape, big and crystalline. I dunno why but I had that mental image. Nothing terribly complex but enjoyable all the same. 6.5/10

>>73222407

I think I gave this album a listen a while back and couldn't really get into it. It is certainly unique, I'll give you that. It's intriguing in that sense. Kind of reminds me of Burial with the staticky kind of sound and the growling bass. After 2 min I think it improves significantly. I like the layering of instruments, and actually I think it's starting to grow on me a bit. I like how the ending sort of calms down and gently brings it into moor. I might have to give this album another chance. I give it a 7.5/10 for sheer creativity

>>73222439

>feat Hayley Williams

well alright then. I like the composition in this song so far. The vocals are really cool too. He's not really singing (kind of like Cake) but it works. The lyrics are really fascinating too, this is one of those bands where you can read the lyrics like a poem. The change up later on in the song is pretty cool too, and Hayley Williams' appearance is a lot more subdued than I would have expected, I think she sounds really mature and her voice helps the track a lot. Overall a very interesting track, 7.5/10

Alright guys OP here, sorry but I think I have to call it for now. It's getting close to my bedtime and frankly I've been doing this for almost 7 hours and there's still something like 30-some odd songs to go. I just don't have the time.

I had no fucking idea this thread would end up like this. Thanks for sharing all these songs, I found out about a lot of cool bands

I will do this thread again in the future probably. In the meantime you guys should check out some of these songs for yourselves

I'll hang around in this thread for a while longer.

I dig it, nice rock song, I like the spacey sound that's playing throughout. The vocals are cool too. I like how he kinda amps up the intensity when he says "FEAR OF RATS", this song has a really enjoyable energy to it. 7.5/10

>>73224584

I've been meaning to try out Mac Demarco, I like this song. I like the twangy kind of guitar sound in this song, and his echo-y vocals, it gives it a very dreamy feel. I like the way the drums fit in too, and the solo at 2:00 is perfect for rounding off the song as a whole. However I would have liked some more variety. 6.5/10
