Alright /mu/ school me on ska punk. Only band I know and have listened to is Operation Ivy. Thoughts on Goldfinger, Sublime, and Streetlight Manifesto?

It was much better down elsewhere than the us, of course, people will say that's not the case because of their nostalgia. But let's be honest , it sounds like a rendition of polka in the us .

I haven't explored the genre at all desu, so all I know are sublime. They were one of my first music loves when I was younger and i still listen to them from time to time. They have amazing basslines, catchy as fuck melodies, and sometimes incorporate hip hop elements into their songs. Self-titled is their most accessible album, 40oz is probably their best though. robbin the hood is more of a combination of cluttered ideas with a few good songs on it (saw red, stp, pool shark acoustic)

I hear the ska punk scene in the UK is the only thing worth mentioning when it comes to the genre

It goes like this in terms of coming out first
>first wave
>two tone(UK)
>third wave (U.S., Spain, Latin America, Europe, Asia)
You'll have to dig, for it, and it overlaps very much with other genres anywhere almost anywhere that isn't the U.S. , you could try wisecracker if you want , the other ones mix calypso, tropical music, dub, dnb, trip hop , hardcore punk and very traditional genres to the region they're from. Or have lyrics supporting communism.
