I can't get into disco music and its sub-genres. It sounds so cheesy and sometimes generic to me. I feel like I would only enjoy it in a world where unicorns exist. Am I an autist? If you have some good disco music, please share it. Maybe I've been listening to the wrong stuff.
Listen to house. To your modern ears that might sound a little more palatable. You can go backwards to disco after that.

Disco sucks. It's watered down and gentrified funk. You're not missing anything.
Boney m, Giorgio moroder, cerrone, kat mandu, cj and co, gibson brothers.
Idk I love that stuff and hi NRG, but I found the latter through polymarchs, which the mixes they put out now are shit, and only good one now is Patrick miller
I like older Italian disco but disco is bad genre overall

"cheesy" and "corny" and "generic" are non-descriptors created by individuals/corporations to push authenticity of certain sounds
once you realize this, you can enjoy anything

Ironically, my entire post is going against the idea that you should tell people what to think
